JAIPUR
Jaipur city is the capital of Rajasthan State of India. The Jaipur District extends upto 11,152 sq. km. with a population density of 471 persons per sq. km. It has been a magnificent touring place since long time. According to the history, it was Raja Sawai Jai Singh who had his capital in Amber, and felt the need for more security and so shifted his capital to the newly built city of Jaipur. Jaipur was first planned and well-designed city of India by a great Bengali architect known as Vidyadhar Bhattacharya. It was based on the Hindu treatise on the Shilpa Shastra, the Indian architecture. The streets of the city are very wide.
Jaipur also known as ‘The pink city’. It is a superb piece of architecture whose restructuring would not lighten away with time. The whole city was coloured pink in the year 1876 in the honour of Queen Elizabeth II and the Prince Albert. From that time the pink colour has been associated with Jaipur and thus the placed got its name as the pink city.
In the Jaipur city there are many sights of the tourists' attraction. The city of Jaipur has attracted many foreign and national tourists. The major cause behind it is the rich cultural heritage and the availability of the magnificent forts. The legendary royal palaces, splendid forts and Havelis are certainly an exclusive charm of the pink city, Jaipur. One of the most popular tourist attractions in Jaipur is the Hawa Mahal. Once upon a time it was used as form of shroud by women folk of royal family to watch the demonstrations.

Another typical example of Rajput and Mughal architecture style is the City Palace built by Kachchwah Rajput rulers. A part of this fantastic palace is converted into a museum for foreign tourists who come to know about the rich culture and heritage of the royal city of Jaipur. There are rare manuscripts, Mughal carpets, their costumes, weapons and other things used by Rajput and Mughal royalty. Another astonishing spot is Jantar Mantar which was built by Sawai Jai Singh. It was an observation center, which was specially built to watch the movements of stars. It is built by marbles and stones. Another famous fort is Amber Fort, built on a hilltop by Raja Man Singh. It is built with white marble and red stones on the styles of Rajput and Mughal architecture. The reason behind the fact that it is an important list of every tourist is because it offers wonderful views of the surroundings. Other well-known and have to see places include Jaigarh Fort, Laxmi Narayan temple, Govind Deoji mandir, Nahargarh Fort etc.
